Editorial policy
How this site is commissioned, checked, funded and corrected.
Last updated August 13, 2026
Everything below describes how Insured and Ready actually operates day to day — commissioning, checking, correcting, and the line between editorial and commercial.
Independence
Advertisers buy space on this site. They do not buy coverage, influence over coverage, or advance sight of it. Our writers are deliberately not told who is advertising, so the question cannot arise.
We do not publish paid posts, sponsored articles, "advertorial", paid links or paid reviews. If we ever run commercially-supplied content it will be labelled unmistakably at the top of the page and excluded from our news feeds.
How we choose what to cover
We commission from the writers first and the calendar second. The bar is whether a piece tells a reader something they could not easily work out for themselves.
Accuracy and sourcing
- Claims of fact are checked before publication against primary sources wherever a primary source exists.
- Where a figure is contested, disputed or has a wide range, we say so rather than picking the tidiest number.
- Where something is our opinion or our reading of the evidence, it is written so that you can tell.
- We do not present general information as advice about your particular situation, and we say where a professional should be involved instead.
Use of AI tools
Some of the drafting here is done with AI assistance. Every piece is then edited, checked and signed off by the writer whose name is on it, and that writer is the person accountable for what it says.
We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, sources, statistics or people. Where a figure or a claim appears, it is checked before publication, and where we cannot verify something we leave it out or say that it is uncertain.
Every illustration on Insured and Ready is original and produced in-house. We do not use third-party stock photography, so nothing on this site is licensed from, or shared with, anyone else.
Corrections
If we publish something inaccurate we fix it. Substantive corrections are noted on the article itself with the date; typographical fixes are made silently. Nothing is quietly deleted to make a mistake disappear.
To report an error, write to corrections@insuredandready.com or use the contact form and choose "Correction". Tell us the article, the sentence and what is wrong; we aim to respond within five working days.
Right of reply
If you or your organisation is the subject of criticism in an article and believe it is unfair or factually wrong, write to editorial@insuredandready.com. We will consider a reply on the record.
Affiliate links and gifts
Any affiliate arrangement would be disclosed in the article itself. Recommendations are made on the merits, and a commission has never yet been a factor because we do not take any.
Writers do not accept payment, gifts or hospitality from anyone they cover. Review items, where they exist, are returned or declared.
Reader data
How we handle your data is set out in the privacy policy and the cookie policy. In short: we collect as little as we can, we do not sell personal data, and advertising cookies only run if you agree to them.
